    EXCITED!

Yay the Pickleberry Blog Fairy mentioned me! So so flattering! I have truly had so much fun over there and the talent is AMAZING, and a little intimidating, but also inspiring! So if you haven't been there, check it out RIGHT NOW! Click here! PICKLEBERRYPOP

Well just got the result from BB in and I am so disappointed that Camilla didn't win! She was amazing and so so wonderful to watch.

Well we had parent teacher day at school today. I am so so proud of my children, they are both very respected for both their work in class, but also the way they carry themselves as people. Their teachers were both full of praise and so very impressed with them. I do like to think, we as parents can take a little credit for that! Sometimes I can be very hard on them and I think I need to learn to lighten up. Even though they can be a little testing at home, I always know that they will do the right thing when we are not with them and I need to let go a little and acknowledge that. I just love them both so much.

We were supposed to go to the movies today, but it was so miserable outside, I coaxed the kids into getting some DVD's instead since I pulled out of the movies, my cousin Suzy and Auntie Gill came over and while the kids watched some DVD's we played cards all afternoon, while drinking tea and pigging out on chocolate.... I've said it before and I'll say it again, I LOVE MY LIFE! hehe Anyway I got a couple of pics of the kids today. When Jesamine and Connick come and play they are always so great together, in fact they play so well together it's easy to forget they are here LOL, but of course they usually come looking for some food! ;)

Back to reality tomorrow though, to work, to work, to pay for this new home LOL!

OK, lastly, I have tried to upload this LO, last 3 entries, apparently blogger doesn't like it, so here I go again....

Some fun and some work and a layout or two......

Well two posts in one day! Wonders never cease!

OK Had a pretty busy day today, between popping in and out of Kate's new site, PickleBerryPop (Pop on over, I had a ball and met lots of new friends who are all amazingly talented!) We managed to dress up our front portico. It was supposed to be a temporary measure until we could get some decking done, but I really loved how it turned out and I think we might leave it like this for the long haul. The decking tiles are from Freedom and we filled the area around them with Black River Pebbles. Anyway, we are pretty chuffed with the effect.

Also below is a pic of our new family room! I have been raving on about this rug for so long now, thought I'd better get a pic of it! When I saw this rug I knew that red would have to be the colour scheme, I am not usually a red person, but the richness and the texture, were screaming out "Lee, oick me, I will look beautiful in your new home" and I listened! LOL Now we just need to get some feature walls painted and some art on the walls to get rid of that sparse feeling!

I feel so lucky to be in our dream home, and while it is no where near finished, it already feels like home and like we have been here forever. We should have our window furnishings in the next few weeks and also we are having someone come in and excavate the mudpit that is our backyard and get rid of all the clay and put some REAL soil in! Then we can think about getting our lawns growing and take advantage of the amazingly sunny days we are having (mind you it's pouring rain right now!)

Now, please note how I have taken the family room pic! LOL I tried to get a magazine feel with the blurry figure Bronte, who is strategicallu placed to hide all the power cords!!) LOL Ah well, at least I should get points for trying! hehe

Next are two of three layouts I have done this weekend (Yep it's all or nothing with me LOL)

The first one, 'Maddie and Lachie', was done for a nifty little challenge at MAC digi, where every few weeks someone submits one pic and we all scrap it. It is such a delight to see the different styles and ideas that are in this group! I just love this challenge.

OK I was gonna post another layout, but Blogger is in a mood, so I guess it will have to wait until my next post!

I switched my day off to tomorrow as the girls have the day off for parent/teacher interviews, so we are off to the movies and then we may even have a Big Brother Finale party tomorrow night! LOL Oh I know it's sad, but any excuse!

    Go Camilla!

Layout, Congrats and perhaps a Bet....

OK, well I actually got two layouts done last night, but since I don't get as many done as I'd like, I will just post one at a time, coz it could be a long time between drinks!

The words in this one are from a speech given at a funeral in the movie, Four Weddings and a Funural. I had to change the words slightly, since they weren't all appropriate.

The poem is by W.H. Auden

You are my North, my South, my East, my West.
My working week and my Sunday rest.
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song,
My love will last forever, forever is not too long.

You truly mean the world to me.

    Any way, see left :)

    PICKLEBERRYPOP

Sending good Grand Opening Vibes to Kate and her team over at PickleBerryPop. I have had a lovely stroll around the site and it looks fantastic. But more importantly than that, everyone is so friendly and I can tell already it's going to be a great place to hang out with new friends and old. I wish you girls all the best for today but more importantly, ongoing success at the site.

    BET

OK, Quinn had her 3rd last game of netball yesterday, and despite looking promising at half time with a score of 2 all, we still didn't come away with a win! I am now thinking about running a book, on whether or not we will win a game before the end of the season, but I can't afford the losses I'll incur. Ah well, the girls aren't bothered and despite their losses are playing with finesse and enthusiasm. Go gems!

    HOUSE STUFF....

We are putting some decking tiles on our front verandah today, so if it looks good I'll post a pic tomorrow, if it doesn't, you'll have to come and visit to see how crappy it looks LOL.

    A PROMISE....

If all that gets done today, Brian has promised to make me a backdrop stand for photo shoots. The lovely Angela, was telling me about her home studio, that she made with course notes from DSP. I had forgotten that I had done that course and never looked at the notes. So yesterday Brian went and bought all the piping I need for the stand and I bought myself a couple of 500wt halogen lamps (as per Miss A's instructions.) I also bought a ridiculous amount of black polar fleece to use as a backdrop and a shower curtain (again, an idea from Angela) to use to diffuse the light from the lamps.... I don't think I will get to play today, but maybe next weekend if I'm lucky. If none of this works, then I am paying for the supremely talented photography to come from New Zealand to teach me a thing or two... or to give up entirely!

    My apologies....

Oh man, I just read my last post! Could that have been anymore boring! I think not! Sorry!

That being said, I don't have much to say right now either LOL!

Ummm let's see, oh I went to the movies today with Suzy. We were a little disappointed as the movie we wanted to watch finished yesterday, so we went and saw The Lake House with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, which neither of us thought we would really like much. But we were both pleasantly surprised and really really enjoyed it. It won’t win an Oscar, but was interesting none-the-less.

Ok below is a pic of Bronte getting “Freak Tooth” out. She was very brave, but I think the dentist and her assistant were a little more concerned about the nutter Mum that had to photograph the event!

This is our darling, cute niece Kira! With her equally cute Dad, Garry. There is a layout in the previous post! Where I also raved about what a great kid she is! The next pic down is the 3 Scott cousins together!

Just a couple of pics around the house that I have taken! Nothing earth shattering, but hey it’s something to post! LOL Grrrr, blogger won't take anymore pics.... I am at the point I might pay for a blog! blah blah blah!

Finally, Quinn has netball on Saturday, there are only 3 games to go and we have yet to win one! But it’s still cute anyway!
    LOL

Have a great weekend everyone, I expect to spend a large part of Sunday at Kate’s new site! Very excited to make my new digiscrapping home a great Australian one!

Good luck to Kate and her team for the big opening and on going success!

    Just life....

OK, not sure I have that much to report! Last weekend was the dreaded “meeting” which turned out to be great. My boss failed to tell me that there are only 4 other CSO’s so the meeting was small and intimate and very very informative. I learned a lot and I’m so glad I went.

The whole family went down and we all stayed at the Novatel which was lovely. Originally we were going to go down on Saturday, but the girls had a sleepover at their cousins Friday night (8 kids….shiver….) and then we went for lunch the next day, which of course went to about 4pm so we decided not to leave until Sunday morning.

We went directly to Brian’s brothers house and saw Garry and Joanne’s just beautiful, gorgeous engaging little 1 year old. Unfortunately with the house building and my teaching and just life in general, we have hardly seen her, but hopefully that will change. Anyway, I took a million pics and did a layout on little Kira (Sorry, blogger is playing funny buggers, will post tomorrow, when lurgies are sorted!)http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v718/LeeQueBee/Kira.jpg

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

We then headed off to the Novatel, expecting to have to pay to upgrade our room, as the bank was paying, but the room had two double beds, so there was no need. We had a lovely meal at the restaurant and a few drinks in the bar and then headed off for an early night. But two of the girls that were to be at the meeting the next morning buzzed me and we met for a few drinks in the bar, which was great.

As I headed off to work the next morning the girls and Brian made use of the hotel pool and then headed off to do a bit of shopping and site seeing and a trip on a tram etc.

All in all a great weekend, although I had an amazing headache, I assume, due to all the information I took in!

    More to come soon……

    Soooo clever!

    See previous post

OK, that didn’t work, I’ll try adding a pic as an attachment this time…. Here goes nothing J

    Blogger via email!

OK this is kind of a test post; I discovered that you can post messages via email, which might come in very handy.

Anyway, I remembered something that I meant to say on my last post. I had Ruth and Sherryll from my Digital Scrapbooking Class come over the other night and we had a bit of a play, but mostly, of course we chatted. Shez bought over a bottle of champers some bitters and sugar cubes and we had champagne cocktails, which were lovely! In fact I could have kept going, but I came to my senses and remembered I work 4 days now! LOL

What a lucky girl I am to have had the opportunity to teach this class, I got to know some wonderful people and also to enjoy the company of a few I already knew.

Also a big thanks to Shez, for the lovely vase she gave me as a house warming present, I will take a pic and post it soon. It’s gorgeous, although extremely unnecessary!

OK, want to see if I can post a layout, via this email thingy, so here is a random one.

This was made with a kit, which I rarely do, but how could you not love Denise Docherty, she is divine!

    Bye for now ….. J

    Blogger Gremlins......

OK the gremlins wouldn't let me post the layout so here is my 2nd try, read below for journaling...

You may or may not be able to click on it for a larger version... I guess it depends on what time of the month it is for the blogger babe!

    FREAK TOOTH....

    FREAK TOOTH
Well Bronte had her freak tooth pulled today, aaaah such a sad day for all of us... Freak tooth has become part of our family, it has been given a special place in our hearts and now it's gone. And not without a fight either, unfortunately, freak tooth had gum growing around it as well as a nodule of gum growing inside, so there was lots of tugging and pulling. Bronte was very brave even though it obviously hurt more than any of us anticiapted including Dr Jenny. But after lots of "oooowing and aaaahing" freak tooth left the building! Mad Mum was in there taking photo's of said extraction so look out for a layout soon on a blog near you (or just this one).

Well I can tell you that the hours for this new job are taking it's toll, I miss my time alone, but at the same time I love my job, so I guess there is a payoff for everything.

I am off to Melbourne on Monday for a business meeting for my new job and I am nervous as hell! All the people there already know each other and despite my boisterous facade, I am not great with new people, but I am sure I will be fine 10 minutes in (fingers crossed).

Went out for a last minute dinner tonight for my cousins birthday. A quick meal but I do love spending time with him and the rest of my extended family. Makes me lament the lack of camping weather right now.... ah I guess it gives us something to look forward to.

House news, oh man we have a lot of work ahead of us, really don't know where to start and how to pay for it... must figure it out...

A little layout on a game I played with my gorgeous Bronte Grace, what a scream I have with her....
Here is the journaling :The other day we had a game of ‘Don’t Blink’. It turned into a side splitting and absolutely hilarious 10 minutes! You tried everything in your power not to blink and you just could not do it. Even when you held your eyes open with your thumbs, in some weird attempt to keep your eyes open, it just made you look like a scary character from a b-grade horror movie. Apparently, you thought if you could hold your mouth in the right position that it might help, but this was to no avail either. The game didn’t last too long because we kept laughing so much and I discovered it is very hard not to blink when you are practically wetting yourself with mirth. After a while Quinn also joined the game which made the situation even worse. By the end of the ‘don’t blink’ session we all had to use tissues to recover and I had to make a quick dash to the toilet before I had an accident. These are the moments that I treasure as your Mum. I hope these are the things you remember when you reminisce about your childhood.

    A layout and a review :)

    Pirates Of The Caribbean 2
Went and saw it last night with a bunch of school Mum's, dinner 1st then the movie. Got home about 12.30am so a little tired today. The movie was a little silly at times, but Johnny Depp is brilliant in his part as is Orlando Bloom. Johnny Depp is so lovable and despite some holes in the plot, it's an enjoyable romp. (all the movie critics cliches in this post!) LOL

    Photo Shoot
Then after a late night was off to a local park at 8.45 to take some pics for a work friend of her kidlets. Unfortunately, her little man was a little sad, so we may have to do it again. Haven't had a chance to get them off the camera yet, but will do that later on. Hopefully they look OK!

    Charmed Life
There wasn't any movies that particularly interested Suzy and I for our regular Friday movie date, and as we saw POTC2 last night, we opted for a day of Scrabble and 500 with her Mum at home where we pigged out and just enjoyed each others company. I LOVE MY LIFE!

    ANZAC DAY

This is a layout I did on a pic I took at the dawn service on Anzac Day this year. It is very plain, but I am glad I recorded the memory. It was very special and touching to be there for us. If you click on the pic you may be able to read the journaling.

    MAC Challenge
This layout was done for a challenge at MAC digiscrap. We all scrapped the same pic, and the results were so diverse and amazing, it was great to see how different our layouts can be.

We have a big few days coming up, sadly, LOL, I am such a recluse now days, but it will be fun to catch up with friends, old and new, over the weekend.
Tomorrow is netball, and then some camping friends over for lunch, Bronte is off to a friends for a play tomorrow afternoon, and then other friends over for dinner tomorrow night. And then Quinn and Bronte have a party from 10-1 Sunday and another 2 sets of friends for lunch on Sunday.
It has been so long since we entertained, I wonder what we are going to cook everyone. LOL Help, we are out of practice!!!

    HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!

    Contributing Editor and a layout.....

Since I was offline for a month I didn't get to mention that I got an advance copy of the Digital Scrapbooking Mag. I have a total of 5 layouts published and a tutorial that I wrote on one of my Best and Brightest entries, "Dream Come True". But the most exciting bit was on the inside cover where I am noted as a "CONTRUBTING EDITOR", can you believe it? Little old me! What a buzz! Anyway, if you are interested, it's out now, there is a PDF version available for us distance challenged Aussie at Digital Scrapbooking Magazine (click here).

Got to watch Pirates Of The Carribean last night, such a treat to watch a DVD in the middle of the week, but I am going to see the 2nd one on Thursday so I had to see the 1st one. Anyway I have always loved Johnny Depp and he is on my list for sure ;)

The layout below is on my special gorgeous Bronte Grace, oh I can hardly explain what a great, wonderful, fun kid she is, you really need to know her to understand how delightful she truly is... except of course when she is not being delightful! LOL I am really happy with this layout, hope you gals like it too! (Click for a larger view) Not sure if you can read the journaling, if you can't and you want to, let me know and I'll publish tomorrow).

Since I have recently had a huge run of Quinn layouts, I thought I'd better catch up with a some more Bronte ones, so here is another, all about how she (tries) to rule the roost! LOL

Signing off, have a great night everyone! :)

    Some pics....

    HOUSE PICS
I haven't taken manu pics in the house but here are a couple that I tried to do magazine style and failed miserably! LOL (Karen, you need to come over and give me lessons....help!)
This is our new dining table, looking toward the kitchen, to our sleek black splash back (say that fact 3 times). The second is the cutout in our wall between the dining room and what should be the formal lounge (not sure what we are doing in that room yet, we'll see....)

    LYN'S CARD

Below is a birthday card I made for my good friend Lyn's 40th. Unfortunately we haven't spent much time together in recent times, due to my new hours and getting ready to move into our new home etc etc, but hopefully that will change soon. Anyway, she said she really liked, which made me happy. I really think birthday cards are harder than layouts! You want to say so much, coz there is only 1 a year!

    A MOTLEY CREW

Lyn's party was a dress up party, this is my auntie Gill (Heidi), my cousin Suzy (Zena, Princess Warrior) and her husband Lincoln (Mr Squiggle), Brian (Sara-Maree) and lil ol me (Elvis (the later years LOL)). We had a great night and there were lots of amazing outfits, lots of fun had by all. Also a bit too much Karaoke, NOT by me (I couldn't never be that drunk LOL). Lincoln made the entire Mr Squiggle outfit by himself, in fact he makes all his fancy dress outfits. The last fancy dress party we went to together he went as a playboy bunny, complete with fishnet stockings and a boned, featherlined teddy, false eyelashes and wig, yes he enjoys it a little bit tooo much! So much so, that I did a family documentary on it, interviewing all the family and making a DVD for him as a Kris Kringle present a couple years back, complete with credits and bloopers.....hmmmm that really does belong on the net!

    MACdigi Girls

I really need to say a special hello and thanks to my MAC digi girls. What a great bunch you are. While I was on my enforced hiatus (waiting for my broadband to be connected), they managed to rack up almost 3000 messages. I really did consider doing a mass delete, but my inquisitive side got the better of me and I read each and every one. I am so glad I did! They missed me yayayay! I came across quite few that said so! Also special thanks to the girls that sent me a present, a card, some texts and a couple of calls. I really am blessed to know you guys.

    Signing off.......

    It's about time....

...I did a quick entry, don't you think?
    HOUSE AND PIGS...
Hmmmm so much has been happening but I don't really know where to start.
Obviously we moved into our new home, it's kinda weird, even though it still feels new, it's like we have been here for ages. We still haven't finished unpacking, and the front and back yards are just a mess. We spent the weekend trying to clean it up a bit. I have decided builders are such pigs. Honestly, the crap we found was disgusting, juice bottles, Coke bottles, plastic, even tiles, which I think the tilers just tossed out the bathroom window when they broke one. Wouldn't it be easy just to have a box and then carry it out when done? Apparently not.
Anyway, apart from that, all is good. We are in the thorws of gettings quotes for window coverings at the moment, man, did I underbudget for that. The quote came back at almost $16000 ouch! Needless to say, we are just going to get the bedrooms and bathrooms done. The rest will have to wait until the tattslotto fairy visits us! Luckily, we have no neighbours at the moment.
    Ummm what else...
    LION KING
Oh yeah, we went to the Lion King, we took the girls, and it was great fun, in fact I enjoyed it more being there with them than I would have otherwise. The only thing that spoilt it was that Quinn was quite unwell and during the 2nd half she just got worse and worse and as soon as it finished, she burst into to tears. She had a terrible fever and I felt bad for her, but she still remembers it as a fun day so that is good.
    DRAMA QUEEN
Also the day we moved into our new home, Quinn was in a production at school, the layout below is made up of photos I took of her dressed for the part, which was based on Oliver, at home. I know the pics don't show the outfit, but I love them just the same. She was dancing around the room, it was a perfect moment to scrap. Is she a cutie or what? (Is this the same girl that got banned for the movies just last week LOL). Anyway, despite her occassional bad behaviour these pics are a true representation of her (usually) happy go lucky personality.

Ok I'll have to do another post, it won't let me post anymore pics... there must be a size limit????
