    { Spring Cleaning Frenzy }

    Oh I so wish I was this motivated when it comes to spring cleaning my house LOL. I have been busy renovating my blog, as you can see, and while I was doing it, I was getting lots of valuable feedback from the MAC girls, so thanks girls.

    In my frenzy I have also helped renovate, Angela, Shez and Sharon's blogs (Sharon's is still a work in progress, under review and discussion.) Go check them out, I must say, I think they look better than mine LOL, oh well!

    ~ IMAGINATION PROMPTS ~
    I have also added a section for "Sites I Love to Visit", the top one is a site I found yesterday, called "Imagination Prompts", I thought it was a great site to use when I can't think of anything to write here, but, in saying that, I really am enjoying this blogging journey. I have found that it helps me focus on all the good things in my life, and when I sit down in front of my computer ready to make an entry, I can clear my mind and really think about what I have achieved, enjoyed, laughed at, and for the most part it's all good! Anyway, I am rambling, check the site, if you need to be inspired, either for writing on your blog, or even in your layouts, I think it's a great way to get started.... so get writing, I love reading about my cyber friends, it's like a special glimpse into everyones inner self, don't worry about your spelling, or editing your feelings, the important thing is to get it down....*stepping down off soapbox now*. ;)

    ~CAMPING~
    Our camping holiday was delayed slightly, due to inclement weather, (otherwise known as bloody strong winds!). We are now heading over tomorrow, it's been nice to get those few extra days in at home. Also, I am going to try and take a leaf out of (MAC) Judy's book and not overpack, I loved your theory Judy, but I am not sure I'm strong enough to do it! LOL

    ~REALITY~
    Well I spoke too soon about how great my darling daughters have been lately, it all came crashing down today LOL. They argued over everything and it drove me insane! Hopefully, getting away tomorrow, will interupt their cycle, and they will revert back to loving sisters. Even worse, is when they are arguing one minute, and start giggling insanely the next! Oh soooo frustrating, but I love them more than the world either way.

    ~SLOW COOKER~
    Finally bought a slowcooker today, threw in some Chicken, Carrots, Brocolli, Cauliflower, tinned Tomatoes, and a sachet of Apricot Curry Chicken, (didn't have any apricots LOL). Anyway it was quite tasty and the meat was lovely, but I forgot to put an onion in and I think that was a missed. But I am looking forward to experimenting more! We might even take it camping!

    ~LASTLY~
    *Judy, I hope you are enjoying your holiday, I'm sorry I mixed up your departure day, and don't forget to have a drink for me when you meet up with (MAC) Karen :)
    *Mick, glad to hear you are healing well, although my morbid side is dying to see your scar! LOL
    *Lis, so glad your back

    Oh I was gonna upload some camping pics, so you could all see how beautiful it is, but bloggers not playing fair tonight :(

    Happy days.... :)

    { Pitch or No Pitch? }

    As promised, this is John at our recent Karaoke night, wowing the crowd with his rendition of, well, I really don't know what he is singing, do you?

    Pitch or no pitch? You decide....
    and if your ears can take it here is another of John even worse than this :)
    John 2

    And also one of Quinn singing Love Me Tender

    Also Lisa sent me this the other day and I think it has some lovely sentiments...thanks Lis :)
    1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
    2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
    3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
    4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.
    5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
    6. You mean the world to someone.
    7. You are special and unique.
    8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
    9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
    10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.
    11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.
    Always remember....when life hands you lemons, ask for tequila and salt and call me over!!

    The rules of the tag are: List 5 weird things about yourself or your pets. Tag 5 friends and list them. (I'm breaking this rule) Then, those people need to write on their blogs about 5 weird things, and state the rules, and tag 5 more people.Don't forget to let the people you tag know by posting a comment on their blog!

    So here's my 5
    1. My eyes are nearly always dilated (don't know why, no drugs though)
    2. I can bend my albows backwards (looks freaky)

    So who to tag next....let me see.....ok these gals
    Karen, Lis and Angela and I will be kind and say that you only need to choose one of the tags to do :) Or both if you want too.
    Have great day :)

    { Live and Learn }

    ~Blog Bliss~

    Well I battled blogger today and made a few (slight) changes to my blog template. Changed the font to my all time fave (I use it in my layouts more than any other). I put a bit of colour in my side panel. Both of those were easy enough. Then I wanted to indent my text a little in the side bar, after quite a while I figured that out too, it all moved across a bit, except the profile text, so I think I spent a good 90 minutes on that! LOL Well, I guess it's a sense of accomplishment, I hate things like that beating me, so I'm glad I persisted!

    ~Photo Shoot~

    Well I must say I was very chuffed with how the pics of Shez's family turned out on Wednesday so I thought I'd have a go with my girls, using the white backdrop.

    They didn't turn out as good as Shez's, a bit soft for some reason, even though I used the same lens. I only took about 25 shots and most were in raw because I couldn't get the WB looking right. Raw is amazing, but I hate the post processing part. That being said, I was glad that I took them in raw and might have to overcome my post processing reluctance!

    I just used natural light today, mainly because I couldn't be bothered setting up the lights, plus the light was perfect, very overcast, and I used the rumpus room, which has three large windows on the East, North and West side, so I couldn't be luckier!

    Now off the technical side, look at my girls, I love that they are so opposite, not just in looks. Although they are actually quite similar their colouring makes it hard for some people to see.

    I am sooo loving being at home with them at the moment, I miss it more than I realised. They are both complete angels too, both helping around the house and just being, well, great.

    Yesterday morning Quinn was having a shower with me and Bronte came in to say that she had made Quinn's bed and folded all her clothes that were on the floor!!!!! Will wonders never cease??? Anyway, during my less lucid moments, I dream that things will last like this forever, but I know it won't, but I am lapping it up as much as I can LOL.

    Just had a thought, it might be my relaxed and happy state that is helping with that.... food for thought.....

    Have a GREAT night all......

    Oh and Mr Supreme Being, I hope you are feeling OK and not in too much pain. And to my other friend.... more hugs.....

    {Happiness is the best...}

    :::Photo Shoot:::

    Here are a couple of the pics taken yesterday from the photo shoot we did here yesterday of Shez's kids and her little neice Karla.

    As you can see all three are very photogenic and were very good models.

    I think Shez was happy with the pics and so was I, a good many turned out great, a lot more than I expected LOL

    Anyway it was great fun and then the kids all played together like they'd known each other all their lives! Click on the pics for a larger view.

    :::PJ Day:::

    Another lovely day today, we had our PJ day and justbummed around, the girls made puppets with some old felt I found and then they sewed beads on too. They aren't quite finished, but it kept them amused for hours. We also had a game of scrabble and then Quinn and I had a game of 500.

    Love these days, so special, I've said it before, I'm a lucky girl.

    Managed to catch up on all my banking and bill paying, not a job I should put off *groan*. But it's done now. There have been a lot of bills lately with all the extra bits and peices we have done around here. And while there is still lots more to be done, the rest can wait while our bank account recovers!

    :::Get Well Wishes:::

    Sending good healing vibes to Mr Supreme Being, otherwise known as Mr Sharon or Mad Mick. He had an op on his hand today and is recovery, so get well soon, Michael and I hope that hand doesn't keep you out of action for too long, for your sake and Sharon's :)

    Also happy hugs go to my other friend, you know who you are, you are coping really well, and you are always in my thoughts, my friend.

    :::Days of Miracle and Wonder:::

    The layout at the bottom, has had a few incarnations and this is what I settled on.

    Brushes are by Denise Docherty (big surprise) LOL and me.

    Journaling Reads :

    You know how to enjoy yourself more than anyone else I know. You are always so consistent in your out look and your approach to life. You seem to savour every moment, and you just exude contentment and it’s obvious you know how to relax and also how to entertain yourself. These photos were taken at Seaspray after an impromptu game of soccer with the rest of our group. I can tell you love these times we spend with friends and family, you love the constant company and the bustle that several families create when ‘living’ together. You laugh so hard and run so fast, you put your all into everything you do. You delight in the company of others and revel in the opportunity to try new things, play with lots of different people and just interacting with people. In fact in short you are the life of the party.Mar ‘06

    Anyway, that's all for me, have a great day/night and happy scrapping :)

    {Movies and more....}

    Another busy day!

    Movies today with the girls, we went to see Monster House with some friends. It was great and the kids really enjoyed it and then we went out for lunch afterwards, enjoyed a lovely meal and great conversation. Mandy, her partner Dave and their two girls Odette and Mallory are also part of our camping crew. I ended up bring Mandy's girls home with me while Mandy went to work for a little while.

    Got home just in time to meet Shez who brought her lovely kids over and we had a little photo shoot, which was lots of fun and very productive. Got a few great shots and then Shez and I settled in for a nice chat while all the kids had a play together.

    Mandy came to get the kids around four but brought a lovely bottle of wine, so we settled in and we ended up calling Dave and they stayed for a lovely dinner of Tanzanian Chicken, Spiced Wedges and Salad and a few more bottles of wine :) (Have yet to investigate whether this can be made in a Crockpot ;) LOL. Before dinner we took the kids for a walk along the creek (just across the road) and a kick of the footy.

    What a lovely day, we had, but are also pretty excited to get a PJ day in tomorrow too.

    Oh and here are a couple more layouts done recently, as you can see I've gone back to my boring style of old ;)

    Top one uses brushes form here http://www.designfruit.com/jasongaylor/blog/ a lovely selection of both free and pay brushes. The quote is "A kiss without a hug is like a flower without a fragrance". The bottom one, is of course, Seaspray, can't wait to enjoy it again :)

    Have a lovely day, happy scrapping ;)

    Hugs and something different.

    ::: {{{{{BIG BEAR HUGS}}}}} :::
    Hugs to my friend who is having a rough time of things at the moment. You're always in my thoughts, and if good thoughts count, you should feel better soon :)

    :::SOMETHING DIFFERENT:::
    These two layouts are extremely different from what I usually do, but I had great fun doing them. I made all the grids and gradients myself but used a star brush from Anna Aspens to create the interest around Quinn and Bronte and the words.

    Click for a larger view.

    Of course the girls love them, I think they think they look like super heroes LOL.

    :::KARAOKE:::
    I remembered that I had videotaped some of the very bad karaoke the other night, I just need to get them off my phone and uploaded somewhere and then I will put them on here. Trust me, they are NOT easy listening. LOL

    :::THANKS AND FYI:::
    Thanks to Annette for the heads up on Denise Docherty's new kit, it's gorgeous, and I can't wait to get it, but sadly I can't get into the site, I've had this trouble before, but it's not consistent, sometimes I can get to that site and other times I can't, at the moment I can't! :( Anyway, if you're interested, check out the lovely Denise's Blog NOW YOU KNOW. Also you should check out Spaceraven.net for amazing inspiration, tutorials and gorgeous brushes, which use in almost all my grunge style layouts.

    Also, in my travels, I found this site here Just AD Inspiration. It has a great array of ads to use as inspiration. Although I sometimes find it hard to do, I can see how looking at these could inspire creativity, a very useful tool for lots of people. Let me know what you think.

    :::SCHOOL HOLIDAYS:::
    Bronte has gone to play at friends today and Quinn has a friend here at the moment. We ducked out this morning and bought Bronte's birthday present (ssshhhhh ;) ) and now Quinn and Maggie are making finger puppets with some old felt that I found.

    It is hot hot hot here today and very very windy, there has been warnings issued for the wind so I expect it to get worse, I hope it blows itself out so there is no wind next week when we are camping. Don't mind if it's cold but wind is blah!

    Enjoy your day :)

    Detour de France

    Well, we have had a big few days.

    Saturday we spent doing a few things around the house, mostly to get ready for a mini party that we had on Saturday night. We had friends from Brian’s work come for a viewing of Ian and Mary’s (Brian’s bosses) son Daniel Jones’ documentary following the Tour de France. The film was called Detour De France and was following a tour run by an Australian ex cyclist John Trevorrow, which follows the Tour de France. It was an excellent film and I learned quite a few things I didn’t know, for example, the course changes every year and countries and towns bid for the start and finish of stages and also that the riders wear ear pieces when they ride and support crews feed them information via these. The film was at times very funny and at times poignant and sad, when it covered some tragedies that happened on the tour and during the tour. You can check out more details of the film here http://www.melbournefilmfestival.com.au/2006_Festival/film.php?film_id=6846

    Brian bought home a data projector from work and we set up a mini theatre. We had lots of lollies (courtesy of Mary), salads, pizza’s and dessert (courtesy of Tennille). Gemma’s fiancé Glenn, brought a karaoke machine for the kids, complete with flashing lights, which kept them amused. Sadly the night deteriorated rapidly when John and Brian decided to have a “sing” (I use that term VERY loosely). It was not a pretty site, nor a pretty sound!

    On Sunday, despite the fact it was a gorgeous day, we spent it nursing slightly sore heads. We got up and had a little dip at the karaoke machine; my turn certainly cemented my option to never do that in public! Sadly, Brian thinks he sounds OK, and no doubt will abuse our ears again at some point, as will John. :(

    We also took advantage of the data projector still being set up and watched a couple of movies, cuddling on the couches with the girls. Blissful.

    I managed to get a layout done, again, for our challenge at MAC digiscrap. The photograph was taken by Karen, our resident photographic guru. The pic is of her gorgeous grand son Matt. Not sure I could do the pic justice, but I ploughed ahead anyway. I once again used brushes by Denise Docherty and Anna Aspens. The quote is from a song “The first time ever I saw your face, I thought the sun rose in your eyes and the stars were the gifts you gave.”

    I’m now on holidays along with the girls and am happy to be spending time with them. I am looking after a friends girls while she is at work today, we have been roller blading, bike riding and kicking the footy, I took the camera so hopefully got a few good pics, which I’ll download later!

    I managed to do another layout of the girls which I will post soon.

    Have a great day :)

    ~Busy Busy Busy~

    Well I have had a busy few days!

    I had a work dinner on Wednesday, which was a scream, as always, then since it was at a restaurant next door to the local cinema, I arranged to meet Suzy there, and off we went to see Wah-Wah. It was a great movie, although not many seem to know about t. It was written and directed by an English actor, Richard E Grant and was based on his life, being brought up in the colonies of South Africa. It was a great insight into that time and a great movie to boot. Although very sad at times. I cry in almost every movie I see, but Suzy never does, until this one. It was very touching.

    Of course Friday was cards again, as we had been to the movies we thought a good card game was in order!

    Friday night we surprised the girls and took them to see Hoodwinked at the cinema. It was a great kids movie and unlike any others. I loved that it showed the story from 4 different perspectives and I was almost embarrassed by Brian, as he roared with laughter at the singing goat. The girls loved it too.

    Saturday Bronte had a bike party, Brian took her to that and Quinn and I stayed home. We had a few games of 500 (she is a very very astute player). I then helped her finish the layout she started last weekend. She has done a great job and I will post it when I get it off Brians laptop. She has started another more difficult tutorial, but is doing great at that too.

    I also finally got around to framing some of the pics from the photoshoot I did of the girls last month. I have three square recessed frames, all lined up vertically with three of my favourite pics (although it was a tough choice). I will get a pic and post it soon, I am very happy with how it looks and it's nice to get something up on the walls, it is looking more and more like our home every day.

    I had a lovely email yesterday, which I am rapt about. More news on that soon.

    We have had a lovely leisurely morning, with kids jumping in bed with us (a little too early). We have been laying here looking through our lovely french doors across the reserve, where there is a large hawks nest in the tree across the park. It won't be visible much longer as the leaves start to come, but occassionally we see the hawks flying around gracefully through the day. Of course, as is tradition, we had the standard game of eyespy, which is always fun, although it is more of a morning ritual when we are camping. Sometimes I wonder how our campervan doesn't topple over when we are all in bed at one end in the mornings LOL!

    Today we are going to get a few little things done around the house and then this afternoon we are off to a friends house for an early dinner. The friends we are going to, are our camping buddies, so I guess we will settle exactly what we are doing in the school holidays. Next week will be very busy at work, getting organised for my time off, but it will be worth it. I am looking forward to the school holidays and we have lots planned aside from camping.

    I am glad I got a streak of layouts done in the last couple of weeks. I don't see me getting any done over the next couple of weeks!

    At the moment Brian and the girls are making crepes with fruit salad for breakfast. There is lots of movement out there, so I'd better go see if I can help.

    Have a great day everyone :)

    ~SERENITY NOW~

    ::: SERENITY NOW:::
    Well I know that the Divine Miss Angela, will love the title of this one! ;)

    These pics were taken at our favourite holiday spot. The top two are very bad pics, overexposed and blurry, but I just think there is something etheral about them. No effects or filters used on them.

    Background by me :)

    Journaling Reads:
    Yes, I know, the pictures at the top are overexposed and blurry, but they just speak to me. LOL. Don’t you wonder what they were all looking at? I am not sure they were looking at anything at all. I think they were just enjoying a walk on the beach on a cold and windy day in the late afternoon. These are the special moments we share when we are together, with our camping friends. Sometimes they are shared collectively with the entire group and some moments are shared privately, between just a few of us. But they are all special, no matter who they are shared with. In these special photos are Tina, Jesamine, Quinn, Bronte, Haley, Mallory and Emily. These are the friends we share special moments with.
    Once again, you can click on the pics for a better view.

    :::FATED FOR LOVE:::

    This next one was done for yet another challenge at MAC digi where one of us submits a pic for scrapping and we all do our own version. I love doing this and seeing all the different layouts that we come up with. This is a good friend of Lis' and her partner. They make a lovely couple.

    Credits: BG by me using various brushes, the rose ones escape my memory, sorry, but the texture ones are once again from the divine Denise Docherty.

    I am out to dinner tomorrow night for a workmates farewell, so probably won't get any layouts done :( I hope that doesn't interrupt my current streak LOL.

    I am loving getting some layouts done, so that I can fill the next "Scott Family Album 2006" at the end of the year. It wasn't looking good but now it's looking a little more 'filled'.

    Also, a few of the girls that were in my digiscrapping class are coming over next week for a bit of a get together. I am so looking forward to that and also on Friday I have a girl from work coming over so I can take some pics of her kids. She loved the ones I did of Quinn and Bronte, so I hope they turn out ok. I am a bit nervous when it matters! LOL.

    Also (and this is particularly for you Shez), had a customer come into work today who happens to own the local printers, and Ruth (bless her) asked him if he could print photo's. So he is ding a test on one of mine and hopefully he will give us a good price. Can't wait to see it. He also wants to see my bound book as he thinks he may be able to get those done too.

    Time for bed, I am so enthralled in my book at the moment, I read it obsessively, last night it was 1.30am before I could myself to turn the light off and go to sleep, I'll give the details in the next day or two... if I remember.....

    EDITED TO ADD
    I got a lovely bunch of flowers today from our school. We had our school trivia night on Friday night it was a huge success and we had lots (too much) of fun. We raised in the vicinity of $2600-$2700, but final figures aren't in yet. Anyway it was just nice that we were acknowledged. And the flowers were beautiful!

    sleep well and peacefully :)

    ~TOO EXTREME~

    :::LAYOUTS:::

    I got two done yesterday and two today! Wonders will never cease!
    **You can click on the pics for a larger view**

    *TOO COLD*
    Back to clean and simple style for this one.....

    Journaling Reads:
    “I really want to get in, but it’s too cold. Should I just jump right in, or should I go slowly, inch by inch?”

    All backgrounds by me. Made the striped one to mirror Quinns bathers...

    *EXTREME SPORT*
    I love this pic and have been wanting to scrap this for ages. It was taken at Seaspray on one of our many camping trips. This particular day, Bronte's best friend Bridie came for a visit with her family. There was an impromptu soccer match. I got lots of pics from that day, but this is one of my favourites. Probably the two fittest Mums I know! It was great to see them having so much fun with all the kids frolicking about. Oh I can't wait for Summer, so we can do it all again!

    :::ALL FIXED:::
    Some might remember my little problem of a few weeks back. I had wanted to see the person involved but we couldn't get together. Anyway, we caught up last week and all is fixed now. I was assured it was all a misunderstanding and everything is great again. This person was very upset that I was upset, but it's all fixed and my life can resume as normal! LOL Thanks again to all those special friends that I received emails and texts from, made me feel better and did help me lots, I am very lucky! :)

    *R*
    Oh and to my friend with the problem that requires special treatment, I'm thinking of you ;)

    Life is good and have a great night!

    ~Wonder~

    :::Wonder ~ Quinn:::
    I did this layout today and I am currently working on another, C & S style. Wonders indeed!

    I made the BG for this one and also used several brushes, mostly by Denise Docherty and a couple from me.

    I love this photo of Quinn, the word whimsical comes to mind when I look at it. *Click on the pic to get a larger view*

    Journaling Reads:
    I often wonder what our relationship will be like when you are older. We seem to have a few ups and downs, with good patches and bad. At the moment, things are so so good and I like to imagine, that we will have more and more of these times as you get older. At the moment, nothing is too much trouble, you are helpful and happy to be doing things for everyone. Right now you are sitting beside me doing a tutorial that I wrote for the digital scrapbooking course I teach. Two weeks ago you would have been frustrated and angry but you are patiently nutting things out and staying very calm. It’s these moments I realise that you are growing up fast and I wonder less and less about the person you will become, because I can see that this is the person you are becoming now.

    This layout is the one referred to in the journaling, this is my version and I will post Quinns as soon as she is finished with it. She is almost done, but it's bed time. Quinns version is excellent and I am very proud of her. Bronte also started but got a bit sidetracked, she didn't end up following my tutorial, but she has done a layout too. So I will post that when I get it off the desktop.

    :::TRIVIA NIGHT:::

    Well we had a great night and I had the headache to prove it on Saturday! Not sure how much money we raised for the school yet, but I am sure it will be at least $2000. I hope everyone had as much fun as our table did!
    Because of the Trivia night yesterday was a bit of a write off, but today Denise came down for lunch and we had a quiet leisurley afternoon. You know you're getting old when it takes two days get over a big night!

    Hope you all had a great weekend :)
