    { Finally a Layout }

    At last, I finally got a layout done! In fact I got 4 done over the weekend, when I was having Internet issues. Only gonna post one now, so I have something for the rest of the week. LOL ;)

    ~ BRIGHT EYES ~

    The pic is one I took of Quinn a few months back at a home photo shoot.

    The background is by me, the decorative font is called Silhouette, the script font is Porcelain. The gorgeous frame brush is from Scrap Artist - Flourish Frames (below) by Michelle Coleman.

    They are gorgeous! Check them out!

    Anyway, thanks to all the MAC girls that helped me improve on this one, your advice is always invaluable! An exceptionally talented bunch! IMHO!

    ~ DECK NEWS ~

    There is none. LOL. It's going very slowly! Although we have 20 very deep holes out there. I am assured that the rest won't take long, dare I hope?

    ~ DAYLESFORD ~
    Was a blast! Great bunch of girls, lots of drinking, laughing and shopping had by all, and lots of pampering had by some (not me, this year).
    ~ MAC-CONFERENCE ~
    Less than 2 weeks now! Can't wait! Nuff said ;)
    ~ MEDICAL QUESTION ~
    Why would a child have a sore cheek? I thought it could be sinusitis, but I'm not sure. Bronte has a slight cold at the moment, I gave her a hanky drenched in Eucalyptus this morning hoping that might help, but she said it didn't really make a difference. She hasn't been hit in the cheek, (or doesn't remember) and there is no bruising, I am stumped, any suggestions?
    Have a great night all....

    { Layouts - by Quinn }

    Well Quinn has followed one of my Digiscrapping tutorials and now has the bug. These 3 layouts were done using pictures Quinn took herself.
    The tutuorial she followed was the koala one, the other two she acheived all on her lonesome! Clever IMHO!

    The two sunset ones Quinn did from beginning to end, right down to the quotes she used (which she made up herself LOL).

    I am very proud and think she has done a wonderful job.

    Bronte has done a few too, but I'll need to get them off the other computer, they make me so proud, it's not easy to master photoshop, especially when you are 9 and 7 yo!

    ~ DAYLESFORD ~

    I and 10 other girls are off to Daylesfor this weekend. This is the 3rd year we have done it and it is such a relaxing and fun weekend. There is no pressure to do anything but whatever you want, stay at the house, go for a beauty treatment, sit in a restaurant all day, explore the shops, play cards, scrabble, on the laptop.

    Can't wait, but of course there is always a downside, I miss my family when I am gone, especially Sunday morning when it's time to come home, I just can't wait until I get here. Sad, I know!

    The girls have Monday off school and I have taken the day off so I will have a day to recover before I go back to work, and then we are thinking of heading off camping for the following weekend, but we'll see. Have soooo much coming up soon, but I am not the only one, it's that time of year and Karen and Judy put me to shame! LOL ;)

    Anyway, have a great night :)

    { Blissful Sounds }

    In the mornings, when I hover between being awake and asleep, I hear the most blissful sound on earth. Little feet running down our hallway, that turns to soft thudding sounds when they hit the carpet of our bedroom, then I get to feel little arms wrap around me and little hands that are quickly losing their childlike chubbiness, stroke my hand or face. I never know which of my angels it is until I open my eyes, and it doesn't matter either.
    Am I luckier than anyone else in the world?
    I think, maybe, I am.

    { Random Ramble }

    ~Homework~

    Last night after school I was laying on my bed with my laptop on my knee talking on the phone to my cousin (who is a sister and best friend, all rolled into one). My kids call her their second auntie, because they think that's right, since she is the Mum of their second cousins (a strange kind of sense in there). We were just chatting about a million different things and while we were talking Quinn came in and sat next to me on the bed to do her homework.

    This morning she came in and asked me to sign it. She had to write a list of set words and then use some in sentences. (The underlined words are the words she had to use in sentences).

    Her first sentence was "Our house was filled with happiness on Christmas day." Nice, right?
    This was the second sentence "Right now, at 4.50pm on Wednesday, Mum is on the phone with my second auntie, and from my opinion the situation sounds a bit boring".
    LOL, I didn't think it was THAT boring, what a classic :)

    Upon investigation, I found these other gem sentences, some of which I am not sure I want her teacher seeing!

    "I heard Mum do a pop-off" (Not true)
    "My Dad's hopeless at doing hair" (True)
    "At Seaspray, sometimes the wind is so strong, it's blown me away almost" (Glad she clarified that with 'almost'.
    "Everybody should swallow their food" (good advice)
    "I think it's necessary to kiss Mum and Dad goodbye at school" (And hopefully enjoyable too)
    "It's easy to seperate a Bratz dolls body from a Bratz dolls head" (Bit serial killerish)
    "I think there is an episode on The Simpson Halloween where Ned Flanders is the daredevil because Homer wanted to eat a donut" (What the? and do you think she means devil?"
    "I like to cook marshmellows but I don't like to eat them, so I give them to my cousin and they're usually burnt!!!"
    "My sister and I argue a lot, sometimes we get soap in our mouths!" (True and True)
    "Some people are very thoughtful and write a story 5 pages long while other people take a while to write a story two pages long" (I have no idea what this means?)
    "I am going to a sleepover at my cousins tonight and my Mum will tell us to behave" (Always)
    "At Seaspray there are rainbows EVEN when it doesn't rain!!!" (Freaky ;) )
    "I don't like it when people pause movies"
    "I think you are the greatest teacher in the whole universe (I'm not just saying this for a sentence, I mean it YOU ARE!!!)" (Bit of a brown nose LOL, but I must agree)
    "Years ago the Italians thought the Earth was square" (Should that read 'flat'? LOL)
    "When we go for walks in the mornings I like to hold cotton balls (so I can keep my hands warm)" (I was wondering myself....)
    "Bronte Grace is a disgrace. (She wanted me to write it - didn't you Bronte? Yes (Bronte)" (they don't always argue...)

    Well, I don't know why, but they tickled my fancy!

    Hope this made you smile and also {{{ hugs }}} to Kate, I'm thinking of you.

    { Electric Love }

    Funny thing happened at school drop off this morning.....

    Almost every morning when I kiss Bronte goodbye we both get a shock from static electricity. This morning it was a big one and we were laughing about it. Then Quinn said "I know Mummy, I'm going to get a photo of you and Bronte kissing and then I'll do a layout and I'll put 'Electric Love' on it."
    LOL That cracked me up! She is thinking like a scrapper already, I hope she keeps up with it.... which reminds me I must get her layout off the other puter and post it!
    Hope this made you smile.
    Here are two pics I took last week when we were camping... I was experimenting with over exposing and playing with different settings on the camera, these are two of the results. I love them, just desaturated them in PS and this is what they turned out like.
    Have a great night, and big hugs to Lis, all the MAC girls are thinking of you and we hope all went well.

    { Footy Fever }

    ~ SLIP SLOP SLAP ~

    OK Here are some pics taken while we were camping. As you can see Footy Fever was rampant, with at least a couple of people having a kick, most of the time. First pic on the left is Bronte, in throws of sunscreening herself! Next is Odette, Mandy and Dave's daughter keeping Bronte company, during said sunscreening :)

    ~ FUTURE STARS ~

    Here's Quinn and Bronte showing off their skills, with a big drop punt from Quinn and a magnificent Mark Of The Day from Bronte! Bronte is absolutely footy mad at the moment and loves to have a kick, she proved her devotion with a fairly admirable attention span while the football was on (better than mine at least). Quinn has a soccer ball and leans more towards that, but still enjoyed a kick with the gang.

    ~ THE AUSTAR GUY ~

    This is John, behaving a little too much like the Austar guy, taking marks over his daughter and crushing her in the process. Emily was only laid up for 2 days and with some chiroprachtic care was able to overcome her injuries and should make a full recovery. She should be OK by pre season. (Just kidding, of course)! Gotta love the look on Emily's face in that top one. Classic!

    ~ JUST ONE I LIKED ~

    Love the smile on Quinns face in this one, so thought I'd share too. I really must get some scrapping done, I have scrappers block at the moment, and need desperately to unblock!!!

    ~ THE FRENCH DOORS ~

    This last one is just for Judy, she was pretty excited to hear we had French Doors in our bedroom, so I took this pic, whilst in bed one day, so I could show Judy what I look at when I wake up in the mornings, you can just see the corner of Brians bedside table, the pic isn't the best, but you get the idea. Who would think that view is a 7 minute walk to the CBD! Gotta love it!

    Have a great night :)

    { Big Days O Nothin' }

    When we are camping, for some reason we are all very tired at the end of every day, despite the fact we don't actually DO a great deal. We all sigh, sitting around the fire and say "Another Big Day O Nothin' ". LOL

    I always come back feeling so refreshed, happy and feeling lucky that we get to spend this special time with our families and close friends. We were pretty lucky with the weather although we did have one particularly windy day, other than that it was great. We had extra friends come over on the Saturday to spend GF day with us and we had our traditional hotdogs for lunch and then "The Big Roast" for dinner. "The Big Roast" is big, usually 3-4 peices of meat and copious amounts of yummy vegies. Suzy even managed to bake a cake for Bronte and Mandy who have birthdays today and tomorrow, it was very yummy, especially since it was baked at the last minute! And finally ended with marshmellows around the fire. Of course, as tradition dictates, we had perfect weather on Sunday we packed up LOL. oh well, better than rain. We unpacked in record time and were completely sorted by 6pm, we are getting good at the end bit! I didn't take many pics but did get one or two good ones, which I'll post soon.

    After such a relaxing time, work was a big shock today, very very busy and just non stop, I didn't get half as much done as I wanted too, but enjoyed it anyway. Especially when I got told we are getting a big reward soon! Yippeee, the dates are yet to be announced but I am hoping like mad I can make it! Fingers crossed.

    Also it was Bronte's birthday today, my baby turned 7! Oh even when she is 57 she will always be my baby! She got a little mini stereo for her birthday which she loved and then after school all her cousins came over for cake and a play, while all the adults chatted. Just lovely! I did take some pics of the blowing out the candles, but they are still on the camera and I'm too tired to get them off, so I'll do it in the next day or two.

    Lastly, I came back to the news that another two of our MAC girls met! Judy was in New Zealand visiting family and caught up with our resident Photography Guru, Karen. They had a lovely time and Judy commented that "it was like meeting a family member rather than just a friend!" How lovely. It's not long until our get together and I can hardly wait to meet these great ladies. Sadly not all of us will be there this time, but we will all be together in spirit, and those not there won't be forgotten.

    Lastly I thought I would do my first "Imagination Prompt"

    The question that came up was "What did we do before the internet"

    My answer is "I have no idea!" LOL

    Have a great night everyone!
